Micromax has quietly introduced a new Android smartphone in its Canvas-series. Dubbed as A177 Canvas Juice, the smartphone is virtually identical to the company’s previously unveiled A77 Canvas Juice.
We are not quite sure why exactly Micromax has released the same phone under two different names. The only difference, we could find in the official specifications of both the phones, is that A177’s processor is slightly under-clocked at 1.2GHz, while A77 comes with a processor clocked at 1.3GHz.
Other specifications are same in both smartphones, which include 5-inch FWVGA display, 1GB of RAM, Android 4.2.2, 3000 mAh battery, 5MP rear camera and 0.3MP front camera. The phone also packs dual-SIM support and the usual connectivity options.
The smartphone has been priced at INR 8,899 and can be purchased from Snapdeal.com or ebay.in in Black colour option.
In related news, Micromax has revealed that it expects to hit $1 billion (over Rs. 6,100 crores) in revenues this fiscal, ending March 31.
“We have seen huge growth in business, especially in the smartphone category (mid and entry-level). We expect to close this fiscal will a billion in revenues,” Micromax co-founder Vikas Jain said in a statement.
