Carphone Warehouse confirms March 25 availability of new HTC One in UK

HTC M8As we had anticipated, the new HTC One will go on sale immediately after the March 25 unveiling in select Carphone Warehouse stores in UK. The phone will be released more broadly soon after. While Carphone Warehouse is the first retailer to confirm the new HTC One availability details, we expect other retailers like Phones4u to start the new HTC One sales the same day.

“The HTC One is an award winning handset that set the bar for design during 2013 and made many sit up and take notice – the new HTC One M8 is likely to continue that trend and will cement HTC’s future as a heavy-hitting smartphone manufacturer. We know how keen customers are to get hold of the latest tech as soon as possible and that is why we are so excited to be able to offer the new HTC One so quickly after it is unveiled,” Carphone Warehouse noted in a press release.

The pricing is still a mystery but will be inline with other flagship models. The immediate availability gives HTC sales advantage for a full fortnight over Galaxy S5, which will go on sale on April 11.

To remind you, new HTC One is rumoured to feature a 5-inch full HD display, 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, Android 4.4.2 with Sense 6.0 and dual Ultrapixel rear cameras. The phone will also come with 5MP front camera, 32GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and the usual connectivity options.

This is a wise move from HTC and will certainly help in converting the buzz into actual sales. Samsung Galaxy S5 doesn’t pack any advantage on the specifications front and the new HTC One actually seems to be a better device on paper. Also, immediate or within days availability of new HTC One won’t just been limited to UK, I am hearing that the phone will reach all key markets between end of March and early-April.
