HTC has reduced the price of its Desire 700 smartphone in the Indian market recently. The phone is now retailing for INR 22,199 at various e-retailers and brick and mortar stores. It was originally launched at INR 33,050 just over two months ago.
This is a huge price-cut but we still think that even at the reduced price, the phone is not value for money. Desire 700 competes with Samsung’s Galaxy Grand 2, which offers better specifications at a lower-price-tag. Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 is currently selling at INR 21,499.
To remind you, Desire 700 comes with 5-inch qHD display, dual-SIM support (dual-active, GSM + CDMA), 1.2GHz quad-core processor, and 2100 mAh battery. It also packs 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and microSD card slot. On the imaging front, HTC has included 8MP rear camera, 2.1MP front camera, and LED flash.
