Motorola announced at its MWC press conference earlier today that it is expanding the Moto X availability to more countries. The company will be releasing the smartphone in India and Australia in the next few weeks.
Motorola will most likely stick to the current retail model in India i.e. selling the phone via Flipkart. The company has been selling Moto G the same way. However, in Australia, we expect the phone will reach almost all major retailers.
The company has not revealed the pricing or a launch date right now, which will be shared in the coming days.
Originally announced in August last year, Moto X is currently sold in select countries like US, UK, Germany, Mexico and Latin America. To remind you, it features Motorola’s custom X8 mobile computing platform, which includes dual-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, four GPU cores, one natural language processor core and one contextual computing core. Other features of the phone include 4.7-inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 10MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, KitKat, and 2200 mAh battery.
Moto Maker expanding to West-Europe and Mexico, no word on Asia
Motorola has also stated that it will be expanding the availability of customised Moto Maker Moto X units to West Europe and Mexico, where it will be launched sometime in Q2. The company did not give a specific date. There is no word on the Asia launch of Moto Maker right now, so there won’t be Moto Maker support availability in India, when Moto X is released in the next few weeks.

Moto Maker would have been a deal breaker but as the mobile will be sold by flipkart and not motorola, motomaker is almost impossible to implement. maybe sometime in the future we’ll have moto maker. BTW as X has non removable back cover, wonder what they gonna do. bring in more coloured X?

I am using Droid MAXX (imported from USA) which is just MotoX with 5″ screen and 3500mAh battery and capacitive buttons. It is an amazing phone. I wonder why all latest JUMBO battery phones are put exclusive to Verizon and NOT even to International versions???
