Samsung has announced that it will begin the sales for Galaxy S5 on April 11 in 150 countries and as you can expect, India will be one of these counties. So, expect to see Galaxy S5 in Indian stores on April 11.
Samsung is also releasing an Exynos octa-core variant of Galaxy S5 in select markets. Not many details are available at this point but the company has listed this variant in an infographic on its official blog. The processor will be clocked at 2.1GHz in this variant.
200 Million Galaxy smartphone sales around the world
Samsung’s J K Shin revealed at the Unpacked 2014 event earlier today that 200 million consumers have bought the Galaxy smartphones around the world. Given the fact that all of Samsung’s Android offerings carry Galaxy branding, it probably is the total number of Android smartphones sold by the company.
Gear Fit sales also begin on April 11
In related news, Samsung has revealed that the new Gear Fit wearable will also go on sale the same day as Galaxy S5. The company is releasing a separate Gear Fit manager app to control the wearable from Galaxy smartphones, the existing Gear Manager app will work with Gear smartwatches.
The app will most probably be released in Google play and Samsung Apps around the time of the release Gear Fit in the market.
