Alcatel introduces Idol 2 series smartphones

Alcatel One touch Idol 2Alcatel has announced its new Idol 2 series of smartphones, which will be showcased at Mobile World Congress next week. Dubbed as Alcatel One Touch Idol 2 and One Touch Idol 2 Mini, the new smartphones run on Android 4.3 but will be upgraded to Android 4.4 in the future.

Talking about Alcatel One Touch Idol 2 first, the phone features a 5-inch 720p HD display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 8MP rear camera and 1.3MP front camera. The phone also comes with NFC, HD Audio and a 7.3mm thick body. The phone will be released in both 3G and LTE variants, which have been priced at 199 euros ($274) and 249 euros ($342) respectively. These will go on sale in Q2.

Coming to Alcatel One Touch Idol 2 Mini, the smartphone packs a 4.5-inch qHD display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 8MP rear camera, and 2MP front camera. Like the bigger cousin, the phone will also be available in both 3G and LTE variants, which have been priced at 169 euros ($232) and 209 euros ($287) respectively. It will be available in March.

Alcatel OneTouch Pop Fit

In addition to the Idol 2 series, the company is also debuting Alcatel OneTouch Pop Fit, a small 2.8-inch smartphone, which can be strapped to your arm using the armband case.  The phone packs budget specifications like QVGA display, 1GHz dual-core MediaTek processor, 512MB of RAM and 1,000mAh battery.

It will be sold in 16GB and 32GB internal storage variants and have been priced starting 89 euros.Alcatel One touch Pop Fit
