NVIDIA unveils Tegra Note LTE, coming in Q2

Tegra Note LTENVIDIA has announced the new LTE version of its Tegra Note tablet today. It will be released in select markets for a price-tag around $299. The company will offering three different versions of the tablet, one with US-LTE support, other with EU-LTE support and the last with 3G and voice-calling support.

The specifications of the Tegra Note LTE remain same as the Wi-Fi version but it will come pre-loaded with Android 4.4.2, which has also started rolling out to the Wi-Fi only versions since February 20. The Tegra Note Wi-Fi versions from various NVIDIA partners across the world will be getting this update over the next-few days.

According to NVIDIA, it is using the i500 LTE modem for the 4G/ 3G support.

“The Tegra NOTE 7 LTE’s worldwide connectivity is provided by our cellular LTE modem chipset, the fifth-gen NVIDIA i500 processor. i500 leverages a unique software-defined radio technology – meaning it can deliver new capabilities via software without requiring an entirely new chipset. Another big plus is higher efficiency – it’s only 40 percent the size of conventional modems but has 4x the processing capability of its predecessor,” NVIDIA noted in a blog post.
