Xiaomi has finally revealed the most important details of its Singapore launch. The company today announced on its official Singapore website that Redmi, which is the first Xiaomi smartphone to go on sale in Singapore, will be priced at S$169.
The company has also stated that Redmi sales will open on February 21. So, beginning next Friday, you will be able to grab this budget Android phone.
As you can see, Redmi pricing is very aggressive and is almost same as the price of the phone in China and Taiwan.
There is still no word on how exactly is Xiaomi planning to retail Redmi, whether it is will going for the online model or tie up with telecom operators. The company is expected to reveal the same in the coming days.
To remind you, Xiaomi Redmi is the same phone, which is sold as Hongmi is China and Taiwan. It features 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, and 4.7-inch 720p HD display. The phone also comes with 2000 mAh battery, 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera and USB OTG support.
The usual connectivity options like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 3G are also present along with GPS. Redmi runs on MIUI V5, which is based on Android 4.2.2.
