As expected, HP has unveiled the new Slate 6 VoiceTab and Slate 7 VoiceTab dual-SIM devices today. These devices will be available next month in India for an un-announced price.
According to HP, both devices run on Android 4.2 and come with quad-core processor (most likely from Marvell), 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, dual-SIM support, 3G, 5MP rear camera and 2MP front camera.
The Slate 6 VoiceTab comes with a 1280x720p 6-inch IPS display, while Slate 7 has 1280x800p 7-inch IPS display.
HP believes that there is a need for such devices in the country and the consumers are looking a way to consolidate devices, thus it is choosing the Indian market as the first country to re-enter the smartphone arena.
“Engineered to elevate the experience for users in India, the new compact, full-featured tablets are powered by a quad-core processor, enabling users to multitask at everything from email to web surfing to gaming to streaming. With voice-calling capability, the new devices deliver performance, quality and reliability helping users take care of productivity & entertainment requirements,” HP noted in a press release.
The pricing of the Slate 6 and Slate 7 VoiceTab hasn’t been revealed at this point and will be announced closer to the release.
