Asus ZenFone 4Asus has announced its new ZenFone line-up of smartphones at CES earlier today. These are the first Asus smartphones in a long time that don’t come with a complementary tablet or another device.

Asus ZenFone 4, 5 and 6 are powered by dual-core Intel processors, and sport screens of the sizes as denoted by the digits in their name. You can check out the full specifications later in the post.

According to Asus, ZenFone line-up will be released in a host of colour options. They also come with the company’s new Zen UI, which features simplified icons, menus, and a Google Now knockoff called What’s Next.

“ZenUI has been meticulously designed to help users make the most of the fantastic functionality that’s packed in to every ZenFone. ZenUI delivers a holistic user experience with better functionality and great simplicity — meaning ZenFone knows what users need, helps to express their thoughts and feelings and keeps them connected wherever they go,” Asus noted in a press release.

Although the company has not revealed the availability details of these smartphones, it has stated that ZenFone 4 will be sold for $99.99, ZenFone 5 for $149.99 and ZenFone 6 for $199.99 in the United States.

  1. If they’re going to stick an Intel in a smartphone I want it to be able to dock and run Windows 8.1. Maybe next generation.

  2. all prices are off contract which is great
These are mainly for developing markets like india and china where phones are mostly sold off contract

    1. Asus haven’t given a specific timeframe apart from saying “First quarter of 2014”. The demo models were up on display over at Vegas (CES) but expect a few minor details to change – including the addition of a “Zen UI” – by the time these are launched commercially.

I am hoping that they can maintain these prices at launch, but speaking strictly from anecdotal experience, I somehow doubt it.
