Update: Micromax has now officially announced the tablet. Check out the latest report here.
Earlier: Turn out, Micromax has decided to appear at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and it has an interesting offering on display – a dual-boot Windows/ Android tablet called LapTab.
Although Engadget is reporting that Micromax has officially announced Micromax Canvas LapTab, we are yet to hear from the company. Maybe the company will launch the device at a local event in India soon.
According to Engadget, Canvas LapTab can boot in both Android Jelly Bean (exact version unclear) and Windows 8.1. It packs a 10.1-inch 1280x800p display, 2MP rear and front cameras, 1.46GHz processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The processor will most likely be Intel-made although we can’t be certain at this point.
Micromax Canvas LapTab is expected to go on sale in the country next month with a free wireless keyboard. The pricing is unclear at this moment but we don’t expect it to be more than INR 20,000.
Surprised..
This can be a killer move by MMX if done right…
