Moto G in MalaysiaMotorola is slowly expanding the availability of Moto G smartphone in more markets and in the same bid, the phone is now on pre-order in Malaysia. According to the pre-order listing on retailer, Moto G will start shipping beginning January 13 in the country.

The news of pre-order in Malaysia comes at a time when Motorola is also gearing up to release the smartphone in India, which is going to be one of main markets for this smartphone. India will also be one of the two countries to get dual-SIM variant of Moto G, other one is Brazil.

  1. I was really hoping that the 8GB variant will be priced at 12,990 or lower and the 16GB variant will be priced at 14,990 or lower, and this pricing confirms it. Great. πŸ™‚

    P.S. – 1 Malaysian Ringgit = 18.83 Indian Rupees as of today. So, 698 RM = 13,143 and 798 RM = 15,026. And that includes a flip-cover(?) from the local retailer.

So the original pricing is hopefully gonna be even better as long as Moto/Google don’t do what Sony did with the PS4 – price the device ridiculously high and blame it all on taxation. WTF Sony!

Fingers crossed for the pricing! πŸ˜€

    • +1.. 8GB version will be OK for old people or first time smartphone users and 16GB price is very important for Indian market and if they priced it right, it will force Sammy to bring down the price of its Quattra, Core and all other relatively highly priced phones…

      • Exactly. If priced well, the cascading effect will mean that the pricing of all the phones will also come down substantially and ensure better pricing of future launches like Grand 2, etc πŸ˜€

  2. at RM 700 and RM 800 in Malaysia isn’t budget phone anymore. This will be the midrange category and not many can afford it s a first android set. Nokia and Samsung may not be affected as they both have cheaper android start-up sets.
Moto G has to be careful with pricing here if it wants to be the embedded choice of the majority low wage earners.

  3. Bye2 crappy plastic Sammy ….. 15k plus on benchmark with STOCK android…?? Didn’t expected below RM800 devices can hit that score’s especially with Sammy crappy.. Its must be over RM 1k device’s to archive that score… it worth to have one ….
