Nexus 5In surprisingly odd news, we are hearing that the two Nexus 5 storage variants might not be just different in storage but also in battery capacity. According to a Phone Arena tipster, Google plans to release a 16GB version of Nexus 5 with 2300 mAh battery (already confirmed via FCC, leaked service manual etc.) and a 32GB version will 3000 mAh battery.

Looks like Google really wanted to keep starting price of Nexus 5 down despite the presence of top of the line Snapdragon 800 processor and other great features. So, while the 16GB variant is rumoured to sell for just $299, the 32GB version will reportedly retail for $399.

This is important to note here that apart from this information from a tipster, we are yet to see any other evidence suggesting different battery capacities in 16GB and 32GB Nexus 5 versions. So, take this with a pinch of salt until we can find something more credible.

To remind you, Nexus 5 is rumoured to arrive sometime this month and will feature a 4.95-inch 1080p IPS display, Snapdragon 800 SoC, 2GB of RAM, Android 4.4, NFC, wireless charging support and 8MP rear camera with OIS support.

  1. Unfortunately, we Indians will have to wait impatiently till it can be seen in the Indian market.

    1. And even then it wont be priced at $299 (Rs 18,000). It’ll be priced upwards of 25K 🙁

Not that it matters though, for me personally. It’ll still be twice as expensive as anything I’ll be able to lay my hands on 😛
