HTC facing One Mini component shortage

HTC One miniHTC’s troubles don’t seem to be ending. A report from Reuters indicates that HTC is facing problems with casings of its One Mini smartphone. According to the news agency, these component shortages are hampering the company’s shipments and it is not able to meet the consumer and telecom demand of the smartphone.

Reuters adds via analysts that even though HTC plans to ship only around 200,000 units of One Mini per month, the company is not able to ship the target numbers.

Already disappointing sales and now these shortages, it looks like HTC will post its first net loss in Q3, 2013.

HTC found to be violating Nokia patents by US ITC

In related news, a U.S. International Trade Commission judge ruled in favour of Nokia and found HTC in infringement of two Nokia patents. ITC is scheduled to make a final decision on the matter on January 23, 2014.

According to Reuters, a final decision in favour of Nokia might lead to the ban of several HTC smartphones from US market. However, on the positive side, none of the products in question are currently popular in the country and are quite old. Some of these HTC products are HTC Amaze 4G, the Inspire 4G, Flyer, Jetstream, Radar 4G, Rezound and Sensation 4G.
