Samsung revealed at the Galaxy Note 3 and Gear announcement that they will be releasing Android 4.3 update for Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S III next month i.e. October. This confirms that Samsung Galaxy S III is indeed skipping Android 4.2.2 update for Android 4.3.
The Android 4.3 update will also be bringing the support for Galaxy Gear smartwatch to these smartphones, which are currently not supported. Samsung’s Galaxy Gear only supports Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition right now, which is a really small list and next month at least two more devices will be added to this list.
The company has not stated anything about the Galaxy Note II Android 4.3 or 4.2.2 update right now. We did hear from some Australian telco few weeks ago that Samsung plans to skip Android 4.2.2 for 4.3 on Note 2 but we would rather wait for an official statement from Samsung.
