Google is reportedly planning to partner with Korean manufacturer and Nexus 4 maker LG to work on the next-generation Nexus 7 tablet rather than Asus, which has built the original as well as latest Nexus 7 tablets.
According to Analyst Ming-Chi-Kuo, Google is switching sides for LG’s advanced display design. LG’s sister company LG Display is known for its display design prowess and it even supplies displays to Apple for some devices.
Kuo notes that LG Display’s access to both thinner/lighter and IPS panels would “narrow” the design gap between Google and Apple’s devices.
There are no other details available about this tablet right now, which isn’t really surprising as the 2013 version has just been released and it would take a while before any credible details about the next version hit the web.
There was a similar rumour late last year for this year’s Nexus 7 but it did not turn out to be true and chances are that it will be the same again
