Update: Swype has now informed us that the Google Play version of Swype also brings support for two more Indian languages –  Tamil and Urdu. Support for Hindi and Hinglish was already available in the beta version.

Swype has also revealed that the new version of Swype is equipped with dialect based Living Language support for Indian English, which automatically updates the Swype dictionary with popular Indian words.

Earlier: Swype has landed in the Google Play store. One of the first and really popular third-party keyboards Swype has shed its beta tag and jumped in. Despite not being present in Google Play, the keyboard has been used by thousands (or even millions) of consumers worldwide, thanks to the device tie-ups and free beta download from the company’s website.Swype

The latest version 1.5, which is being released in Google Play Store, is pretty much same as the beta version, but there are a few new features as well.

Here is list of feature that can expect to see in Swype keyboard

  • Dragon Dictation
  • New Holo and Artic keyboard themes
  • Expanded living language dialect support: Swype’s Living Language now adds support for over 20 dialects.
  • Smart touch: The app adjusts to the user’s personal input patterns
  • Smart reselect: Users can select any word in Swype to edit it. The app will look at the selection and offers better replacement options.

“Based on the incredible success of our beta program and our vocal customers, we decided to extend the power of Swype to more Android users through Google Play. Android users deserve the best keyboard — settling for an alternative is no longer necessary,” said Mike Thompson, Executive Vice President and General Manager for Nuance mobile.

Swype is being sold at $0.99 in Google Play; however there is a free trial version also available. The beta version of the Swype continues to remain freely available on the company website to test out the upcoming features.
