Acer seems to be in a hurry to launch its successor to the budget Android tablet Iconia B1. The tablet was originally announced at Consumer Electronics Show in January this year and now Digitimes is reporting that company has shifted the launch of Iconia B1 successor to June from earlier scheduled end-of-year debut.

“Acer recently shifted forward the launch of its second-generation Iconia B1 tablet from the end of 2013 originally to June,” Digitimes wrote in a report.

According to the report, Acer saw great response to Iconia B1, but with HP and Lenovo joining the mix; it is planning to counter the competing products with a newer and better Iconia B1 successor.

Acer has also reportedly shift the announcement of a 10-inch budget tablet from 2013-end to August (probably IFA). This 10-inch tablet will come with a MediaTek processor.

The new tablets should give Acer some insulation from the upcoming Nexus 7 successor as well because the Iconia B1 is in no way a competitor to existing Nexus 7 let alone with the successor.
