A little late, but Whatapp team is ready with a new update for its Messenger app to bring the elegant Holo interface to the app. The developers have released the new version APK on their website, but it is somehow missing from Google Play.

This version not only brings the new interface but also fixes some critical security issues with the app. It carries the version number 2.9.2239 (the version of the app hosted in Google Play is 2.9.1547).

The newer build is likely to be released in Google Play soon, but if you don’t want to wait to try it. You can always download the APK and manually install it on your Android phone.

To remind you, Whatapp Messenger is a multi-platform messaging app, which allows to be in touch with your contact using your data connection. The service is free for one year on Android, following which you can pay $0.99 to continue using it.
