Lava has announced the launch of its first Android 4.1 Jelly Bean powered tablet. Part of company’s Etab series, it has been dubbed as Etab Xtron.  According to company, it will be available in the market for just INR 6,499 (MRP: INR 6770).

Lava Etab Xtron features 7-inch IPS display with 1024x600p resolution, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 2MP front camera, 8GB of internal storage, 3500 mAh battery and 1GB RAM. On-paper, Lava ETab Xtron certainly seems like a winner, but we will have reserve our verdict until we see the real-world performance.

This Lava tablet will be competing with Acer’s newly launched Iconia B1 tablet in this price-segment, which also packs similar features.

According to Lava, Etab Xtron comes pre-loaded with a lot of apps including Office Suite, Nimbuzz, Adobe reader, Fusion music player, Pizza Ninja, Solitaire, Chess, Sudoku, Mine Sweeper and Ping Pong.  Company has also partnered with content providers Hungama.com, BigFlix, meritnation.com and edukart.com to provide free or discounted content to the Etab Xtron buyers.
