Samsung’s JK Shin confirms 8-inch Galaxy Note for MWC, as new tablets leak

Samsung-GALAXY-NOTE-10Samsung executive JK Shin has revealed that the Korean manufacturer will indeed be launching an 8-inch Galaxy Note device at the upcoming Mobile World Congress. He was talking to journalists over a casual dinner in South Korea.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, which was recently leaked, is expected to feature an 8-inch 1280×800p display, 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 5MP rear camera, 2GB RAM and Jelly Bean. It will be Samsung’s competitor to the iPad Mini and its upcoming successor. Similar to other Note devices, it will also sport S-Pen.

The new Note 8.0 is being developed under the code-name Kona; here is a look at other specs of the device, thanks to inside sources of SamMobile.

In related news, SamMobile is also reporting that Samsung will also be launching new tablets in its Galaxy Tab series at the event. These tablets will carry the Galaxy Tab 3 moniker and are code-named Santos and Roma.

Samsung is still mulling over its plans for the 7-inch version but 10-inch version is pretty much confirmed. It will feature Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and come with 5MP rear camera, 16/32GB internal storage, Wi-Fi and 3G (select versions) connectivity.
