Facebook has finally released the update for its official Android app that we have been waiting for. Company has ditched its HTML5-based app to go native code-based.  This change will speed up the loading times for news feed, timeline and more.

“When you’re on your phone, nothing matters more than getting what you want quickly. We’re always working to make our apps faster, and in this update we’ve rebuilt news feed, notifications and Timeline for speed,” noted Facebook in a blog post.

The version 2.0 of Facebook for Android is now available to download from Google Play.

Here is the full list of changes:

  • News feed and your Timeline load faster
  • Photos open with a tap so you can quickly like and comment
  • New Stories bar lets you see more stories without refreshing

  1. Yep.. its fast.. i used to use Browser to open facebook, as that works really good, however, Back to FaceBook App now.
