Sony announces Xperia go for Canada, available in November

Sony has announced the launch of its rugged Android smartphone Xperia go in Canada on Wednesday. According to the company, Xperia go will be available beginning in November through telecom operator Fido (in Black and White) and at Sony stores in limited edition Yellow colour.

Sony’s Xperia go comes with a scratch resistant mineral glass display and meets the IP67 ratings for protection against dust and water immersion2 between 15cm and 1m for up to 30 minutes.

“The Xperia go is the ideal smartphone for the everyday user looking for a device that can keep up with their lifestyle regardless of whether it rains or shines,” said Peter Farmer, VP Marketing for Sony Mobile Communications.

It comes with 3.5-inch display, 5MP rear camera, 1GHz dual-core processor and Android 4.0.  There is 8GB of on-board storage, which can further be expanded via microSD card slot. Xperia go users also get access to Sony’s Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited apps, which offer host of musical and movie content.

There is no pricing information right now, but we hope to hear something very soon.
