China-based Lenovo is planning to launch smartphones in the Indian as well as Philippines and Indonesian markets, reported Bloomberg. The news agency has quoted the company chief executive Yang Yuanqing stating that Lenovo will start selling the devices in India, the Philippines and Indonesia in “a couple of months.”

Yang also revealed that his company does not want a single product to cover all price-bands unlike some companies (you know which one), but will release multiple models to cover all price points.

There is no confirmation on whether Lenovo will launch Android smartphones in India, but we are pretty confident that there will surely be Android devices from the company.

Lenovo had originally started selling smartphones in home market China about 2.5 years ago and its phone business is currently losing money but the CEO is hopeful that it will become profitable in “a couple of quarters.”

Lenovo already sells Android tablets in India and had showcased three new at the ongoing  IFA trade fair.
