Wondering what Google would be calling the next to next version of Android – folks over The Verge have got the answer. According to their trusted source, Google will be naming the version after Jelly Bean as Key Lime Pie. It fits perfectly in the alphabetical dessert naming scheme of Google for different Android versions.
The exact version number of Key Lime Pie (KLP) is not clear as we don’t even have a confirmation on version number of Jelly Bean.
As a quick reminder, here is the Android version naming till now:
- Android 1.0/1.1 – No version name
- Android 1.5 – Cupcake
- Android 1.5 – Donut
- Android 2.1 – Éclair
- Android 2.2 – FroYo
- Android 2.3 – Gingerbread
- Android 3.0 – Honeycomb
- Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich
- Android 4.2 or 5.0 (not confirmed) – Jelly Bean
