HP has finally decided to do some good and give their internal Touchpad Android kernel source code as well as other GPL components to CyanogenMOD team working on the Android port for this webOS running tablet.

HP had a team in place to make Android work on its Touchpad tablet, which first came to light when a few Touchpads running on Android were sold part of the fire-sale. Following which developers requested HP to give the source code, company declined first but now have given it to the community.

The currently given source-code lacks the Wi-Fi driver, which devs hope will also be sorted out soon. Touchpad owners can now expect even lesser number of bugs in the upcoming CM builds for the tablet.
