Barnes & Noble just started sending out invites for a Nook event on November 7 in New York and confirmed the rumors of a Nook Color 2 launch. Since the Amazon Kindle Fire release, everyone has been eagerly waiting for the next generation of Nook Color, which saw decent success.
Nook Color 2 is expected to be a significant upgrade over the first-gen in terms of hardware as well as software. Don’t expect to see any stock Android experience on the device; it is very likely to be on the lines on the first generation with a heavily customized build of Android 2.3 and company’s appstore pre-loaded.
Barnes & Nook earns money from content as well as app sales on Nook. Pricing of this device is going to be very interesting as Amazon has set a tough challenge by pricing Kindle Fire at $199, and it depends on B&N to match that and take initial losses or price Nook Color 2 on the upside around $249 or $299 with its margin saved.
Anyways, we will be bringing you all the details from the launch, so just hang tigh or check our Amazon Kindle Fire coverage here.
