Motorola’s SVP Portfolio and Product Management Alain Mutricy has confirmed that Motorola RAZR will get Ice Cream Sandwich update in early 2012. RAZR, which was announced two days back, is Motorola’s revamp of its popular flip phone with Android on-board.

His exact statement:

“This phone has been built on Gingerbread but Android 4.0 will come in the early 2012.

RAZR currently runs on Android 2.3.5 and Motorola will port all of its innovations onto ICS and then release the update, but considering Motorola’s track record with updates till now, I wouldn’t really believe until I see the update myself.

RAZR is a great smartphone, but without ICS it loses some of its shine.
