Samsung and HTC were the flag bearers of smartphone industry in terms of sales growth in the first quarter of 2011. The main factor behind this growth was only one – Growing popularity of phone running on Android.

While, Samsung’s smartphone sales grew to 10.8 million units, HTC went up to 8.9 million units, both registering fourfold and three fold growth respectively.
