LG is planning to recreate the Optimus One magic with another Android smartphone. Korean publication PlusNews is reporting that LG is preparing to launch an Android smartphone named Pecan at Mobile World Congress. The smartphone will cost around $200 and will come with NFC support, but the publication writes Android version as 2.2, which surely is a typo as NFC is only supported in Gingerbread.
The specifications are expected to be in line with Optimus One, may be a little bit on the lower site as company is targeting the mass market. Considering the success of LG Optimus One, the strategy might well work. NFC support is surely an added advantage.
