In 2009, there were no Android phones in China. A year later, more than 50% of the phones sold in the country are running on the Android OS. According to Morgan Keegan analyst, Tavis McCourt, a bulk of about the 10 million phones sold in the last year were Android Phones.

Throughout 2010, the Chinese mobile market was led by Symbian and Windows Mobile but Android seems to making a huge dent in their market.

Though iPhone4 will soon be released in the Chinese market, considering Apple’s past record in China, Android does not have much competition.
