Motorola RAZR, RAZR Maxx getting Android 4.0 update in India

As expected, Motorola India has started rolling out the much-awaited Ice Cream Sandwich update for RAZR and RAZR Maxx smartphones in the country. The update is available over-the-air (OTA).

From Motorola:

This update is optional and once your RAZR is updated to ICS, it will NOT be able to revert to Gingerbread.

  • An updated look and feel
  • Homescreen customization and navigation changes
  • Changes to Social Networking
  • Improved voice recognition

The download file for this upgrade is between 200MB – 240MB and Motorola Mobility recommends downloading it via Wi-Fi as you may incur connectivity charges over a 3G network.

Motorola has also stated in the release notes that as part of this upgrade, it is giving some Android games from EA free of charge.  Simply click on the MOTOLOUNGE app after your upgrade for access to 9 popular EA games.

If you have updated your RAZR, do let us know about your experience in comments.

If its branded(like verizon or AT&T etc) then no you wont get the updates, otherwise i don’t think there should be issues.
