Google launches Chromecast in Japan for 4,200 yen
Japan today became the second Asian market after South Korea to see the launch of Google’s streaming dongle Chromecast. The device will go on sale beginning May 28 in the country for 4,200 yen ($41). It will be available at Google Play and other major retailers.
For the local release of the Chromecast, Google has partnered with the likes of Videopass and Docomo d-Video to support casting from their video streaming applications and websites.
Although a bit slowly but Google has been taking Chromecast for newer markets each month and we hope the device is officially released in India soon.
To remind you, Chromecast is currently available in a total of 13 countries including Japan. The device allows the consumers to stream online video and audio content to their HDTVs using their computers or mobile devices as remote. The Chromecast also supports mirroring of Chrome browser tabs on the TV screen.
