Sony begins Jelly Bean roll-out for Xperia S, Xperia SL & acro S [Official]

After multiple false alarms, Sony has now officially announced that it has begun Android 4.1 roll-out for Xperia S, Xperia SL and Xperia acro S smartphones today.  Sony’s global PR team just tweeted about the same and has also revealed that Xperia ion will be next to get the Jelly Bean update (The update has also been confirmed by various readers at Xperia Blog).


The Xperia S JB update is already live in various countries, you can check out the full list below, we are yet to hear confirmations about Xperia SL or acro S.

The update is available via Sony PC companion app, so go to Sony support site and download it first. As every other software update, it is also being released in batches, not everyone will get it right-away, be patient and you will soon get the update.

The change-log is not available right now, but we can expect to see updated media apps like Walkman, Album and Movies as well as new Battery stamina mode.

The update will also bring Google Now support, Project Butter improvements, better notifications and more to the smartphones. If you have got Jelly Bean update on your Xperia S, SL or acro S, do let know in comments.

  1. Finished a while a go, noticed the power management stamina mode is not same with xperia P which you can do several changes. Brightness still no auto mode and no WIFI direct… I heard the update to xperia S is still incomplete..
