Samsung_Galaxy_Y_Plus_GT-S5303ZKAINU_frontAn unannounced Android smartphone has been spotted on Samsung India website today. Dubbed as Galaxy Y Plus GT-S5303, the smartphone runs on Android 4.0 and seems to be the successor of company’s quite popular budget phones Galaxy Y and Galaxy Pocket. In fact, the phone looks exactly like Galaxy Pocket.

There is no word on the pricing of Samsung Galaxy Y Plus, but it is likely to be priced around INR 6-7,000.

Samsung Galaxy Y Plus features 850MHz processor, dual-SIM Always on connectivity, 2.8-inch QVGA display, 4GB of internal storage, 3G, and 2MP rear camera. The phone also comes with 1200 mAh battery, microSD card slot, AGPS, Glonass, and Wi-Fi.

As we have already stated, the smartphone is currently un-announced, but we expect to hear from the company soon.

Galaxy Y Plus will join about 20 Android smartphone in Samsung’s current Android portfolio. Samsung also retails Galaxy Music, Galaxy Chat apart from already mentioned Galaxy Pocket and Y variants in the budget price-segment.

Samsung has been a little slow with releases in entry-level segment in the last few months and has mainly focussed on mid-range and high-end phones. We hope that changes with Galaxy Y Plus.

  1. It is a pain to see Samsung still releasing smartphones with qvga resolution display. Also the same with ICS. When there are multiple options available for bigger screen phone with at least HVGA resolution, this phone is unlikely to get a good response from people. IF the same model comes with HVGA resolution, the pixel density will be high and the text will look crisp. With such a combination of small phone with decent screen with attractive price tag will surely be big hit.

  2. Samsung is interested only in selling phones. Not to provide them updates. Even Sony is now pushing updates as promised.

  3. can galaxy pocket duos run on android ice cream sandwich when galaxy pocket plus available in market?
