Karbonn Mobiles has added yet another smartphone to its ‘Smart’ portfolio by announcing the Karbonn Smart A18 priced at INR 12,990. The device runs on Ice cream Sandwich sporting a 4.2-inch IPS display promising wide viewing angles.
The smartphone features a 5MP autofocus rear camera and boasts features like ‘Burst Mode’ & ‘Face Detection’. There’s also a 1.3MP front camera for video calling. The phone’s external memory is expandable up to 32GB.
The Smart A18 is powered by a 1 GHz processor and comes with a 1500mAh battery. Connectivity features on the dual-SIM device include Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi Hotspot, 3G and USB Tethering.
Pre-installed apps on the phone include apps from the Google stable like Currents, Maps, Search & Gmail and social networking apps include Facebook and Whatsapp.
Current Android offerings from the homegrown manufacturer include the Karbonn Smart Tab 1 and the A9, A7 and A5 smartphones. The company is also planning to launch a Jelly Bean-based tablet and smartphone this September.
The smartphone will be dubbed as A25 and will feature a 4.5-inch display. On the other hand, the tablet will be known as ST4 and it will have a 9.7-inch display with Gorilla Glass protection. Karbonn has also stated that it plans to price the tablet around INR 11,000.
