After Google Music 4.0.1 and Google+ apps from Nexus Prime, we now have the boot animation itself. The leaked animation is now available for you to install on your Android device. It has been tested with select devices, so it might not work on every phone.

You will need custom recovery on your device or root access with root explorer installed on your device.

Via Root Explorer:

  • Download the zip
  • Use explorer to go to system/media or system/customize/resource or wherever your particular phone pulls boot animation from and copy the existing boot animation zip to another safe location and replace it with the just downloaded Nexus Prime boot animation.

Via Recovery:

  • Download the zip
  • Boot in recovery
  • Select Install Zip fron SD card
  • Select the downloaded zip and flash

You can also use ADB to do it but we won’t go in that, Google it if you want the ADB method.

While, we wait for Google to actually release Nexus Prime and ICS, these little goodies will help us pass the time.

  1. Works on SGS2. Flashed it using recovery.
It plays in a loop though.. shouldn’t it stop after one time?
