Vodafone UK today became the first telecom operator in Europe to launch operator billing for Android Market purchases. Telecom operator is soon going to make it available in Germany too.

Android Market operator billing gives users option to charge their app purchase in their monthly phone bill. This is a great feature of those who don’t want to use their credit card in Android Market or don’t have one. An Android Market update will start rolling to Vodafone UK users, bringing the operator billing options in the Market app.

Vodafone users will be able to spend a maximum of £30 on a single app purchase (once per month) and £250 will be monthly limit for buying apps using operator billing. If you cross this you will have to use your credit card to make the purchase.

Operator billing was first rolled out in US followed by Japan.
