Lenovo IdeaPad K1, ThinkPad Tablets official, coming this quarter
Lenovo, the Chinese tech giant, has finally announced IdeaPad K1 and ThinkPad tablets. These tablets will go on pre-order in the United States starting today with deliveries in August, while the global launch will happen sometime later in this quarter.
Both the tablets are running on Android 3.1 Honeycomb and come with NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor.
Lenovo IdeaPad K1:
It will come with 10.1-inch 1280 x 800p display, 1GB RAM, and 64GB of storage with a microSD card slot. Additionally, the tablet packs Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth, optional WCDMA/EVDO, a Micro HDMI port, audio out and an integrated microphone with twin 0.5W speakers.
Other features include 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and an optional keyboard dock. The 32GB model IdeaPad Tablet K1 is priced at $499.
Lenovo ThinkPad tablet:
It offers the specifications as the IdeaPad K1 along with optional 3G, but is differentiated by the series of enterprise friendly features like Cisco VPN and encrypted SD card support, along with the potential to make custom OS images.
It also offers full sized USB port and supports digitizer pen. It has been priced at USD 499 for 16 GB version, USD 529 with the digitizer pen and keyboard case will be sold for USD99.
