From less than three percent just a year ago, Android tablets have come a long way to capture almost one third of the total global tablet market. According to Strategic Analytics, global tablet shipments reached 15 million units in the second quarter of 2011 and Android captured 30 percent share of global tablet shipments.

It might be a great figure, but it is on the right path, with more budget tablets incoming from manufacturers like Huawei, and the entry of Amazon in the arena – we expect the number to rise further.
