HTC banking on Wildfire to boost smartphone shipments
HTC is hoping that Wildfire release in the coming days will be the main driver of its smartphone shipments this year. HTC is also going to partner with foreign telecom companies to promote the smartphone model in Asian-Pacific countries.
HTC foresees the middle-end smartphone to sharply boost its overall shipment starting this year, according to HTC`s Asia-Pacific region vice president Jack Tong.
Taiwan's Global Mobile to launch Android WiMax phone
Taiwan’s Global Mobile is reported to be planning a WiMax smartphone launch for Q4 2010. This handset will be running on Android and will be powered by Mediatek chipset.
There is no word on price, but most of the WiMax phones unveiled previously by HTC and Mediatek were quoted at about US$600.
