Samsung Galaxy Pop Plus S5570i spotted online, launching in India?

Samsung seems to be planning to launch an upgraded version of budget Android phone Galaxy Pop in the Indian market. Dubbed as Galaxy Pop Plus S5570i, this smartphone was spotted on Flipkart today by one of our readers. It is listed as out of stock right now, but we are expecting it to change in the coming days.

In terms of upgraded specs, we can see company has replaced 600MHz processor with an 832MHz processor. No other upgraded features are visible in product listing and one of the surprises is the presence of Android 2.2 “FroYo”, because it is a two gen-old phone OS version. Unless Samsung is planning to push the Gingerbread update soon after release, it is big disappointment. According to the product listing, it will be priced at INR 8,330.

Other specs of Galaxy Pop Plus S5570i include 3.14 inch capacitive display with 320X240p resolution, 3MP rear camera, 164MB internal memory, 1200 mAh battery and Touchwiz 3.0.

PS: Galaxy Pop is better known as Galaxy Mini in other markets

Thanks Bhautik

another disappointment. why don’t Samsung upp the resolution to the standard HVGA standard rather than pumping out QVGA crap :-x
