In line with our previous reports, Samsung seems to have started selling Galaxy R in the Indian market. Although the official launch announcement hasn’t come, we have reports from normal stores as well as online retailers like Flipkart that Galaxy R is finally in India.
But you will be disappointed to hear the pricing; it is being sold for INR 27,438, despite previous assumptions that company might price it aggressively. With this pricing, Samsung India is not giving consumers any reason for opt for Galaxy R over Galaxy S II, which can easily bought for fewer than 30K now.
Samsung Galaxy R differs from S2 in display quality, display size(not much), primary camera, video recording quality, thickness, internal memory and processor, but still the price difference between two devices is only 1.5K at max, if you can try you get Galaxy S II even cheaper.

No way, if samsung are pricing it that high,, there is no point in buying it.. as u get a lot with samsung SII and it available for around 27,000 on ebay.in in the deals of the week section.. so samsung should lower the price to around 20,000 range if they want to sell it in serious numbers !

The price is on higher side bcoz its just launched otherwise if price doesn’t go down, this device is going to be a big failure. Obviously, People will go for SII for better specs.

I had plans for this phone. At this price, no way! no way!
well what attracts me to this mobile is the tegra2 processor which is supposed to be a superior GPU compared to the mali400 on s2. tegra2 has a lot of support in the android market. I have been waiting for this mobile for a while now! But the price is a killer, no ty i will go for s2, no tegra but the s2 is much much better than R, better screen, better CPU, better camera.
What the dirty price is this, it will working in market if it is available below 22k

By providing all good features fr Samsung galxay S2, n removing thm fr Galaxy R.. indirectly they r targeting to reduce Nvidia market in Chip buisness
if u go through th specs, u will gt to knw tht though Nvidia chip is capable of 1080p, they r reducing th video recording capabiylty to 720p..

If i can spend 27,500 rupees I can definitely afford 2 more Thousands for a better handset. galaxy r will be a disaster with this price..so sad that i waited for 3 months for this handset…
I suppose almost everyone’s failed to notice that this is the MRP and not the RP.
The price has come down to 21000 rupees now, but its not available in most of the palaces. Went to Samsung Smart Phone Cafe and they told me that this is not in production anymore… 🙁 Any issues ?
The price of this phone has come down like anything. It was 19100 rupees, but isn’t available anywhere.. 🙁 its a good phone..
