HCL has announced its fourth Me seriesAndroid tablet in the Indian market today at a press event in New Delhi. Priced at just INR 10,490, HCL ME X will go on sale starting today.

HCL ME X features 7-inch 800×480 capacitive display, Android 2.3, 1GHz processor, 2MP front camera, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage with microSD support, HDMI out, 3500 mAh battery and WiFi. It will support 3G access via USB dongles, so you don’t have to worry about WiFi connectivity everywhere.

HCL has preloaded quite a few apps like Think Free Office, Cleartrip, 99acres on the device to give users out of box usability. You will also have access to ME App Store and Me Connect (to easily transfer content from PC to the tablet).

HCL Infosystems Ltd., India’s premier hardware, services and ICT systems integration and Distribution Company, unveiled its new ME Tablet, the X1 at a press conference held in the capital today. With over 35 years of leadership in research, development and an in-depth understanding of the industry, the company has introduced the X1 ME Tablet tailored to suit the needs of the Indian consumers. The ME Tablet also sports a trendy user interface that enables consumers to navigate the Android device smoothly and comes power packed with pre-loaded handpicked applications. The innovations incorporated in the new product stemmed out of the detailed market survey and resonates the pulse of the Indian consumer.

The X1 is competitively priced at Rs. 10,490 and also enables an exclusive access to the ME App store which has over 10000 applications capturing the latest and the best android apps in the world for the X1 users. Powered by the Android OS 2.3, the light and portable ME Tablet is packed with special local applications, enabling a converged solution for mobile computing and entertainment needs with 34+ ready to use applications. The X1 offers an 800X480 Pixel Capacitive Screen, Cortex A 8, 1Ghz processor with high performance and low power CPU. The tablet comes with a 2 MP Camera and 512 MB storage capacity with an internal memory of 4GB expandable to 32GB. The internet experience on the tablet is something to look forward to with the 7” screen along with Full High Definition 1080 pixel video support. It has a strong 3500 mAH battery and one of the only products in the market with an option of data connectivity through USB Dongles. Also there will be Flash Support through Adobe 10.3.

Book lovers can avail of sizeable discounts on books through The Wink ebookstore application.

The X1 again is the only tablet to have a full blown PC Connect called “ME Connect” which facilitates transfer of content to the tablet from any another computing device. Naukri.com and LinkedIn are two other very useful pre bundled applications in the Tablet. With the 99 Acres application one can search for commercial and residential properties while the “Book My Show “application that helps user to book their favorite movies; Then there are applications to access a complete office suite, Fring video chat, Moneycontrol.com; ESPNCricinfo.com and Zomato local restaurant search.

HCL ME X1 Tablets will be available in stores in Delhi and across the country from 13th October 2011 onwards.

    Only one question is it upgradable to future androis OS upcoming upgrades like Honeycomb,Ice cream etc… ?

    Price Is Catchy……And Useful Features are also their which are missing in other Tablets …under this Price range…………..and i Wanted to confirm One thing that it supports 3g via Usb Dongle…that Means
    1) It Supports PenDrive or not?
    2) If it Supports 3g Via usb then it Doesn’t Have Sim Slot in it….and that Means Its Not a Phone den?
