Pragati OS is the name of Android-based operating system used in the Jio Phone Next, which is Reliance Jio’s latest low-cost smartphone. Based on the Android 11 Go edition, the Pragati OS comes with many exciting features for first-time smartphone buyers. Jio says the Pragati OS has been designed in collaboration with Google and has been made to suit the needs of Indian consumers.
Some of the key features present in the Pragati OS include a voice assistant, Read Aloud, translate, and Made for India AR filters. That said, you can find each of these features, apart from probably the India-specific AR filters on any Android smartphone.
Jio Phone Next specifications
Jio Phone Next is said to launch before Diwali, but an exact date is still a mystery. In terms of specifications, it uses a Qualcomm processor and a 13MP primary camera. Unofficially, the leaks suggest the phone will come with a 5.5-inch HD+ screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 SoC, up to 3GB of RAM, and 4G support.
The key highlight of the Jio Phone Next will be its price tag. Although we don’t know the price right now, it’s very likely to be under Rs. 4,000 to target a significant number of consumers.
