Update: Asus Zenfone 2 is now on sale at Amazon US, other retailers are expected to join in in the next few hours.
Earlier: Asus has announced the launch of Zenfone 2 in North America. The phone will go on sale beginning May 19 in US and Canada.

According to the company, it is going to offer two variants of the smartphone in these markets. The low-end variant with come with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and 1.8GHz Intel Atom 3560 quad-core processor and the high-end variant will feature 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and 2.3GHz Intel Atom Z3580 quad-core processor. Rest of the specifications of both variants will be the same – 5.5-inch full HD display, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front shooter, 3000 mAh battery, Android 5.0 with Zen UI and microSD card slot. The phone also packs dual-SIM support and 4G LTE connectivity
According to Asus, the low-end variant of Zenfone 2 will retail at $199 in US and CA$249 in Canada, while the high-end variant of the phone will sell at $299 in the States and CA$379 in Canada. Both prices are without contract. The phone will be available to order in Red, Black, Grey and Silver from Amazon.com, B&H, Groupon.com and NewEgg.com in the US and NewEgg.ca, NCIX.com, Canada Computer and Memory Express in Canada.
