HTC One M9+Although we were expecting the arrival of One M9 smartphone, HTC on Tuesday launched the new One M9+ and One E9+ smartphones at a press event in New Delhi. The smartphones were originally unveiled in China earlier this month.

According to HTC, the One M9+ will go on sale beginning May 3 in the country at INR 52,500, while the One E9+ will reach the stores in second-half of May. There is no word on the release of One M9  or the pricing of One E9+ smartphones at this point.

Coming to the smartphone-specifics, the HTC One M9+ smartphone is a large-screen variant of the company flagship One M9 smartphone. It features a 5.2-inch Quad-HD (2560×1440) display, 2.2GHz MediaTek helio X10 octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM and Android 5.0 with Sense 7. The One M9+ also packs 32GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 2840 mAh battery, NFC, and 4G LTE support.

On the imaging front, HTC has included a 20MP rear camera with depth sensor in the One M9+ along with an Ultrapixel front shooter. The HTC Duo Camera set-up on the phone will allow the users to tweak the point of focus in the images captured from the rear camera using the depth information recorded by the depth sensor.

In addition, the new One M9+ sports a touch-based fingerprint sensor and BoomSound speakers with Dolby Audio in an all-metal unibody design with dual-tone colour finish. HTC has noted that One M9+ will released in Gold on Silver and Gold on Gold colour variants.

“We are thrilled to bring the luxuriously designed HTC One M9+ to our customers in India. The new HTC One M9+ delivers a combination of amazing imaging with the new and improved iconic Duo Camera that we pioneered; a new 2K display for viewing brilliance; exhilarating sound with HTC BoomSound with Dolby Audio; and our latest Fingerprint sensor, giving our customers a peace of mind and a truly HTC One experience.” said Faisal Siddiqui, President, HTC South Asia and India.HTC One E9+

HTC One E9+, on the other hand, comes with a 5.5-inch Quad-HD display, 20MP rear camera, dual-SIM support and 2800 mAh battery. Other specifications of the smartphone are similar to One M9+ – MediaTek helio X10 processor, 3GB of RAM, Android 5.0 with Sense 7, Ultrapixel front shooter, 4G LTE support, NFC and 4G LTE support.

Unlike the One M9+, the E9+ is made of plastic, but with similar dual-tone colour finish. It will be available in Meteor Grey, Gold Sopia and Rose Gold colour variants.

“Our newest HTC One E series builds on the momentum of the flagship phones with sophistication and style. We are certain that this offering will delight many of our consumers,” stated Siddiqui.

HTC One Privileges

On the lines of Uh-Oh Protection in the US, HTC India has introduced the HTC One Privileges program for One M9+ buyers in the country. According to HTC, One M9+ buyers will get one-year insurance for the phone, which will compensate consumers for any accidental or liquid damages. In addition, they will also receive discount vouchers worth INR 15,000 from Myntra.com.
