WhatsApp WhatsApp is yet to officially announce the arrival of its voice-calling feature, but the feature is already accessible to many. If you are feeling left behind and really want to get calling support in your WhatsApp account, here is a quick guide to help you get the feature.

Given the internet is already filled with thousands of tutorials on how to get WhatsApp calling support, chances are you might already know what I am going to say, however for those of you, who don’t know, here are two quick steps to get WhatsApp calling before the messaging giant officially opens the flood gates.

    • First, you will need WhatsApp version 2.12.5 or above. Version 2.12.5 is now available via Google Play, so you can either update the app on your phone via Play Store and if it is somehow not getting updated, you can grab version 2.12.7 from WhatsApp website and install it on your phone. (Note: To check the WhatsApp version on your phone, open WhatsApp, go to menu > settings > help > about, or go to phone settings > apps > Whatsapp)

WhatsApp

  • Now that you have completed the first step, all you have do is receive a WhatsApp voice call from someone, who already has the feature activated. Once you receive and complete the call, you will see a new tab called “calls” in the WhatsApp on your phone as well as several new phone icons at various places in the app. That’s it, you now have voice-calling on WhatsApp in your Android phone.

If you don’t want to make all this effort, don’t worry, as soon as WhatsApp is comfortable in rolling out the feature to all, it will reach your Android phone automatically.
