You would have already read that Motorola earlier today launched the new Moto Turbo smartphone in the Indian market. The phone is currently on pre-order at Flipkart with a price-tag of INR 41,999 and will go on sale sometime in the third-week of March.
Moto Turbo packs some really impressive specifications for the given pricing, but its road to success won’t be all that easy as the likes LG, Sony and Samsung, each have competing devices. Even Google’s Motorola-made Nexus 6 is also a competitor to the Moto Turbo, however given the large 6-inch display, it is not everyone’s cup of tea.
In this report, we will take a quick look at how the Moto Turbo fares against the Sony Xperia Z3, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Sony Xperia Z3 smartphones.

As you can see in above specifications comparison table, Moto Turbo clearly stands out on the battery front and the presence of the near-stock version of Android 5.0 is another plus for the phone. Other features like the display, processor, RAM and storage are also top-notch, but similar to other smartphones. The quality of camera is a more subjective topic, but it will probably be in line with Note 4 and Xperia Z3.
On the pricing front, it gets little competition from LG G3, however Moto Turbo’s higher price-tag is justified by the more powerful battery and processor. Note 4 is a great competitor, but its price-tag mars the deal for many and Turbo is a far better value-for-many option, if you are not explicitly looking for S-Pen or multi-window like features. Xperia Z3 is also a decent option, but considering the FHD display, it makes more sense to go for Turbo.

Spec wise, the Turbo takes the cake amongst the aforementioned ones obviously, but at this stage, I’d be loathe to buying anything without LTE even at the entry level, unless you’re planning to get a new phone every year or something, as this time next year, 4G services would be fairly ubiquitous IMO in every major city at least.
Unlikely for the 4G networks, as the telecom operators are already in talks with the govt to extend the roll-out deadline to 2020. None of them are in the condition to get even the basic framework ready.
Airtel stuck to 2300 MHz band, that’s why it has been able to roll-out to the select cities, others are still trying to mix and match between 1800MHz & 2300MHz.
You are right, Gaurav… It is still sometime to go… Can say this for sure as I work for one of the 4G operators & we have just started to mobilise things at backend !
Moto Turbo is having Band 3 LTE support (FDD-LTE on 1800MHz) which is used in 50% of total LTE networks in the world.. Even Airtel is going to launch 4G using Band 3 in AP and TN in coming months…
Yes, like most high-end Android phones these days, but LTE on 1800MHz isn’t arriving for at least two years in India. Even if it arrives before 2 yrs, it will in very select cities. As I said in my other comment, telcos are still trying to figure out how to best combine their spertrum in 1800 and 2300 MHz. Some of them are even planning to buy more sprectum in 800MHz and 900MHz for use in 4G roll-out.
Because of all this, I believe 4G is a non issue right now unless you have 4G LTE network in your city when you are buying a device.

Which band will be used where… This is everyone’s guess work !!!
I still don’t get good 3g connections on vodafone (using nexus 5) nor my friends (mostly using iphone 5s) have to turn off the mobile data then turn on again and sometimes have to restart to get 3g. Why’d you want a 4g phone ?

Join the club. EXACTLY the same case with VF here in Kolkata as well. But BSNL is better. And 5GB @ Rs. 561 is also a lot more affordable than AVoId IMO.
But anyways, what has that got anything to do with 4G? 4G data will be much faster than the <1Mbps that we mostly get on 3G!
You still didn’t get what i meant. We can’t use good 3g connections after years of being introduced. So it doesn’t matter if phone has 4g or not. It wil take years to get good 4g connections as well. Manufacturer know this so as a benefit to them no use of giving 4g.

The LG G3 is definitely worthy of the superphone ranks and should be on your list of devices, if you want it all and like living life in high resolution.
