As Micromax-owned Yu Digital gets ready to unveil its first smartphone on December 18, a series of leaks have detailed the upcoming phone.
Looks like, the Yu smartphone is going to be a rebranded Coolpad F2 4G, which is sold on China Unicom in the neighbouring country. The uncanny resemblance between the Yu teaser images and Coolpad F2 was first spotted by GadgetRaid.com and we have been able to find more evidence supporting the claims of the blog.
A listing on import/ export data tracking website Zauba.com reveals that the Yu phone will sport a 5.5-inch display and come with 4G LTE support and dual-SIM connectivity and these are same features, which are also present in Coolpad F2 4G.
Among other specifications, the Coolpad F2 includes 720p HD screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core 64-bit processor, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front shooter, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and 2500 mAh battery.
With Yu smartphone launch less than 24 hours away, we will get a confirmation on these specification soon enough.
The pricing of the phone still remain a mystery but if the import listing is any indication, the upcoming Yu phone will retail around INR 12-13,000 in the Indian market. In addition, Amazon India has already confirmed that it will exclusively retail the phone and the filings submitted by Micromax as a part of the case against OnePlus in Delhi High Court have revealed that Yu phone sales will begin on December 20.
No other details are available at this moment, but as always, we will bring all the details as soon as we get more information.

choice is yours buy a original samsung shit for 40k and use it for years the very next year it will be priced at 15k
or go for karbonn or micromax and just keep on upgrading every 8-10months

Buying from one place and selling it at another place Is called trading -the simplest way of doing business, and we should be thankful that we are getting such technologies at 9k for which so called brands like HTC and sony will charge 25k so grow up man, Calling your self techgeek wont make you techgeek micromax has never claimed that its phones are indian and almost all brands makes their phones in china, taiwan, korea etc so whats the big deal??? SO its not the way to fool but yes smart way to do business and providing extremely high configured phones at extremely cheap price
The big deal is calling their product innovative. All they have done is installed CM 11 Rom on Coolpad F2 4G. Any guy who can follow simple instructions on the web, can install Cyanogenmod on his device. They call their device ‘Zeus’ of smartphones,etc. statements like these misguide people. And hence they are fooling the commoners.
Yes, companies like HTC, Sony, Samsung and even Apple go to China/Korea/Taiwan for manufacturing, but get the key difference here – they innovate in their own labs and go to these nation only for mass production. Unlike Micromax who is just rebranding a Chinese smart phone. As an end user you are paying Micromax for the innovation and features they include in their phone. You are not not paying them for their business and ‘trading’ skills.
And if you are so price sensitive(which even I am), you have other manufactures like Xiaomi and OnePlus who are putting efforts in innovation and getting you premium products at a lower price (even cheaper than Micromax). Buy directly from the original Chinese manufacturers, instead of having a middleman like Micromax !!
You can install CM on any phone with instructions. But what company will give you warranty even after you’ve rooted the phone?
And also, how many people around you have actually bothered to root their phones? I often nag my friends to let me root their phones simply because all they do is sit and complain about how crappy/laggy/slow their phones are.
Buying directly from the original Chinese manufacturers – why? Why would I give a damn about a middleman when there’s a DAMN good phone waiting for me for 9k? Believe me, no one is buying the phone because Micromax is touting innovation. It’s as simple as getting the VERY latest hardware (really, what Snapdragon 615 phones can you get in India right now?) for a very cheap price.

you idiot read the article, coolpad F2 uses snapdragon 615. Micromax doesn’t manufacture phones, they just re brand it. Don’t be too proud, cause India uses chinese phones and sells them under different names.
